Raven Wings
INTRODUCTION:
I watched as the man sipped his coffee. He had dark, brown eyes, piercing, yet friendly. He had black square glasses, the expensive modern kind. He had long hair that reached his waist. His hair was black and silky. He wore a lose, black, short-sleeved shirt. He wore black jeans.
Everything about him reminded me of a Raven.
"My name is Zach," he said and smiled at me. I was still a bit surprised how he brought me to a very expensive café. I had only taken a sip of my cappuccino and it was, the best I ever had.
He smiled and closed his eyes and sipped again.
"Max," I said.
"Oh, make sure if you right down my name, you spell it right. Z A C H." He said and sipped his coffee.
CHAPTER 1:
REX
I still hadn’t adjusted to my new Arizona house. It was large and spacey, modern, nice. I loved it. I had everything I dreamed. From the best house, the best book, and the best dog, I had everything.
I turned on the medium-sized plasma and skipped things over, until I found a good game of tennis. Yes, I do like tennis.
I watched as the player named Sergio got his ass whooped. He just joined the Major’s and was being put against some pretty tough players. The poor guy.
But Henry Fretou has got to be one of my favorites. He is, really good at the game and has a nice personality. I think… Any who…
I heard growls and yelps and fighting noises. I ran, ran to the noise.
I fell to my knees when I got outside.
Blood and fur was everywhere, struggle marks all over. But there was so much blood, and fur. The fur of Rex….
I knew it now.
Rex was dead.
I had nothing left of him, not even a body to grieve over and bury. Nothing. But what killed him? A mountain lion? But I heard more yelps and growls that were not my dog. But what dog could kill a Pit bull so easily?
I weakly pulled myself inside, into the wondrous TV room.
Rex had been the best bud, always with me, cheering me up in the gloomiest times. He even prevented a robbery in my last house.
I spent the night trying to take in that Rex was gone, dead. But is was hard, it was almost like losing a brother.
But what killed Rex? We had just moved here. He had been killed here in our first week here.
That night, I didn’t sleep. I just had memories from the time he was a puppy until the noises in the back.
The next day I called neighbors within a two-mile radius. Only one had a dog, a little
Shih-Tzu.
I put the phonebook down and crossed my arms on the table and put my head between. What could have killed Rex?
I felt a tear trickle down my face? Why Rex?
I pulled my head up, ready to call animal control when in side of my eye I aw something.
A coyote.
It was unreasonably blood and looked like it only had a bad limp and a few nasty cuts. I creped closer. That * coyote was pretty much leaning against the house. Tuffs of fur were between its claws. It tried getting most of it out.
That was white fur.
Rex Fur.
How could that god * coyote kill Rex? My baby? My Pit bull? There was no chance Rex was alive, with all the blood, only one animal could be alive.
And somehow it was that God * coyote that survived. This was screwed up.
I called the animal control fast.
“This is Tucson Animal Control how can I help you?” Answered some man.
If I told them my dog was killed by a coyote I would be, thought of having mental problems. Best to lie, but to the Animal Control? That didn’t sound like it would end good.
“There is a coyote, right outside, and it looks like it just got in a fight. It is Bloody, and has some nasty wounds.”
“State your addresses.”
“I live outside Tucson. 5893, 22nd ST SE.”
“Thank you sir, we are sending help.”
Oh no, the fight sight.
I ran outside, smoothed out the sand. Got the blood-stained sand and but it in the outside trash. Cleaned up the fur the best I could. I scared of the * coyote I don’t know if I wanted to live.
When they came they asked a few questions,” Which way did it run?” “Did you hear anything last night?” “Are you new here?”
I answered all of them truthfully except for the 2nd one. I lie horribly, but they didn’t seem to notice, or I did hide it really well.
They reported finding nothing and called the search of until morning.
I got little sleep last night, but some.
CHAPTER 2:
MY JOB
After days of searching they where unable to find. They said the “poor thing” probably died.
I hope it died.
I was searching for a well paying job, which didn’t take to long. Work as a realistic agent. I was a realistic agent before I moved, thing is now I work for my ex-job’s worse enemy.
Opps.
Any who, I went along the week happily. No coyote, Rex was out of my mind because work was a bit tough. Oh well, I got paid a hell of a lot of money.
They nice, warm Sunday evening was nice, relaxing on the huge retainer and watching the news.
I heard a rattle and went to check what it was and opened the front door and stepped out
Nothing.. .
A growl came from the side and looked over and screamed.
The coyote,.
All better, pissed, and staring at me.
It snapped its jaws and I scrambled inside, screaming.
I grabbed my new laptop, calling animal control just didn’t seem right. I couldn’t lie through this one.
I searched all night, until I hit a chat site. Something about “Zack Wind” being a awesome animal guy, he got a mountain lion to leave a area. They posted a email addresses, which I found lucky. I emailed him, stating having a “coyote problem” and need help. I asked the price and hit send. It wasn’t long before I got a reply. Which it amazed me how fast. It said he would love to and it only coasted twenty dollars. He asked to meet at the café on Denton street at seven A.M. I agreed.
That night I slept well, assured my problem would be solved.
CHAPTER 3:
ZACH
I felt like I woke up way to early that morning. I was rushing at six in the morning, getting ready for work, getting a pen and some paper so I could write Zack’s phone number.
At six thirty I was ready, ran to my car, a blue Subaru. It was a short fifteen minute drive into the jam packed city.
There was so much people, the possibility of NOT getting in a traffic jam where slim. But I made it, barely through one, but made it on time.
On Denton street, I was in open-mouth surprise when I saw the café. It was obiously one where only some pretty rich people would be able to afford. * it, I didn’t think I was going to get coffee even. I didn’t have my morning coffee for that.
I parked a block away, it wasn’t crowded over there but my car stood out like a sore thumb.
When I walked in, I stood out like a swore thumb. Everyone was well dressed and I was on some jeans and a shirt with a tie.
A waitress with the menu books looked at me, he seemed not at all surprised. He was use to this?
:“How can I help you sir?” The waitress asked and as he walked up to me.
“I was suppose to meet someone here..” I said the lead off.
“Might I ask if his name is Zach?” The waitress asked.
“Yes,” I said surprised.
“Follow me,” he said, and lead me to a table, then he set a menu down.
A man was leaning back in his chair, sipping coffee.
I took a seat and the man stopped leaning and he looked at me and smiled.,” What do you want?”
“Nothing, nothing,” I said, to scared to look at the menu for the prices.
Another waitress came, a woman this time,” What can I get you?”
The man smiled and looked up at the woman, handed her a menu and said,” A cappuccino please.”
The woman nodded. And went away, but it wasn’t long before she was back, and had a nice warm cappuccino. She put it in front of me and the man said,” thank you.”
I took a sip of my cappuccino and looked at the man.
We talked., he asked my address and warned me that he might be there when I was at work. He told me his phone number. He asked questions, he paused when I said “coyote”. Which I found odd.
About seven forty I left, I was about to pay him for the cappuccino but he said not to and it was on him. He said to pay him for moving the animal until he did so.
I left happy, I felt reassured.
CHAPTER 4:
THE COYOTE AND RAVEN
At work I asked questions about Zach. I learned pretty much everyone who had animal problems called him, or emailed him. “It is less stress on the animal,” “Sounds better for the animal,” “I’ve heard he is better the animal control.” Things like that, it made me feel more confident about Zach dealing with the coyote.
Work was, no other word but normal. Easy, no stress Just work.
The drive home was peaceful, of course I got stuck in a traffic jam but really once out of town it was a nice drive. A bit hot, but nice.
Like the car drive, the first hour at home was peaceful, quite. I read a bit, not much through. I started dinner, rosemary chicken, which sounded extremely good.
I watched the chicken then sat down. It sizzled nicely, its tender wings making me want to go nuts as they started hardening and becoming crispy.
A loud squawk came from the front yard. It soundly not like any bird in the area, in Arizona for that matter. I rushed through my house.
The sight I saw was heartbreaking and gut wrenching.
The same coyote, the Rex killer, the one who bothered me, the one who growled at me, had its jaws in a bird’s black wing.
A raven’s black wing.
What the hell was a raven doing in Arizona? How do it get here? What was it doing here? What should I do?
I was too stunned to do anything so I watched in horror. The raven would pull its way free, somehow. Pull its wing through the coyotes mouth. After the raven was free, the coyote would leap and nail the same wing, and same thing would happen, after the wing was well from flying it would turn around and peak at the coyote until it let the poor thing go, then try to limp away, but be caught in the same wing again.
I could not stand to watch the poor thing suffer, the poor raven. When it got lose, and tried limping away, I had inched over. I ran for it and grabbed, almost getting bit by the coyote.
The coyote saw now that I had the raven, then growled at me, almost commanding me to let it go. I refused by running to my house, the coyote staying put and growling at me the whole time.
Time seemed to slow after this, the little time that elapsed to seemed forever. My heart was pounding, I was only concerned to save the poor raven.
I set it on the island in the kitchen setting it down with care and kindness. It needed it to, it wouldn’t survived if I wasn’t careful.
When I set it down, in the few seconds, maybe one I saw it, I took a good look at the poor, dying, raven.
It was black, pure black, cave black. Its feathers were dull and covered in blood, its wing looked horrible, only the best of the best vets could save the wing. He had dark brown, beady, little eyes, that where piercing, yet friendly. Its eyes showed an eerie sign of intelligence..
I rushed to the bathroom, that had rubbing alcohol, ointments, towels, things I might need for the raven. It took me what seemed forever to find the much needed things for the raven.
I ran through my house, hoping I hadn’t spent to much time getting the much needed supplies ready.
I dropped everything I had when I saw what I happened when I was getting supplies.
There was a blood trail, which I followed. I flinched as I saw the raven had jumped on to a chair right next to the island, then limped to the back door, past the TV room and into the dining room, and into dining room. There had been a unnoticed crack, which I felt guilty knowing it was my fault it got away.
Outside, it was fenced for my dog, Rex. But the raven had slipped under a large gap, which surprised me how much it really wanted away.
The blood trail led all the way out of view to the north.
I felt guilty, I could do nothing. The night passed and I could not sleep. I kept asking myself why had I moved to Tucson anyway.
I felt horrible, for days and days.
CHAPTER 5:
WEEKS
I chewed my nails for weeks, I didn’t get a message from Zach. The coyote was starting to get more aggressive, but had not yet attacked.
Reading, work, and regular things in life were harder then usual, I was nervous, what could have happened? Did he get in some kind of accident? Was the raven and coyote some kind of omen?
I shook that thought out of my head. When did I start believing that kind of stuff? Never before had I believed in this kind of stuff, ghosts, magic, omens, things like that. Was I going crazy?
I need to do something, something to save myself from going crazy, he could have gone on vacation and left and forgot to leave me a notice, but I doubted it.
I hadn’t met a lot of people. I have little to do. I was going to go crazy, I was worried and scared.
Another week passed, he never came. I chewed my nails. To keep me busy I went to book stores, cheap café. But nothing helped.
I read, only a couple of pages before I couldn’t read anymore. I was literally losing my sanity. I couldn’t sleep, barely ate, and work was pure hell.
The coyote must have sensed this, and would send me inside more often, I barely made it to work, almost late.
I ignored emailing him, what was the use? I found no use, if he was in town, he would have came out, emailed me, done something. But he did ‘t.
I checked my emails, even through I knew he would be on but maybe, unconsciously, I hoped for a miracle. I don’t know, it could be that or I was going crazy. I really didn’t know.
One day, I was reading. I put the book down. I just couldn’t stand it. I got up, and went to my car, the coyote must have been hunting or something. I drove my car around Tucson, I went to a book store. Some author was there, his talk distracted me, finally Zach left my mine. I was in peace, without knowing it.
My peace left to quickly and Zach returned quickly, and I was again, in a pure mental hell. I drove home, aware that I had been in heaven.
The coyote was there, and somehow instead of chasing me into the car, it chased me to my house.
I looked at the phone, just because I had nothing else to do. I played it, almost knowing someone got the phone number messed up.
“This is Zach, but sorry for missing all those weeks without telling you, I had a emergency business trip. I’ll come over on Friday, thanks for being patience,
Well, I wasn’t patience but I felt in top of the world. He was ok, just a business trip that was a emergency. He was ok, that was a miracle.
I could breath again.
CHAPTER 6:
SECOND ATTACK
Zach did as he promised by early seven, and wanted to fall asleep at the door when I answered. He was smiling, happy, I swore he was fueled on coffee, if anything.
“Can I sit down,” Zach asked nicely with his silky, sweet, voice. It wasn’t to sweet, it was perfect. His voice wasn’t to silky either, but perfect.
I showed Zach to the table, I sat down, and he joined me.
He asked me a description, and I gave him a pretty crappy one, but he said that would work. He asked were the coyote hung out a lot, I showed him the part he had leaned against, which the coyote took a liking to.
Zach examined the area the coyote liked, looking for god knows what. Probably to see if it was having any medical problems.
I turned around, and screamed,” LOOK OUT ZACH!!!”
The coyote had been hiding in some brush, waiting for, what looked like for Zach to get down on his knees, vulnerable, the coyote charged him, mouth open, ready to bite.
Zach turned around fast, and put his arm in front of him, protecting him, or his vital organs anyway.
I stood, paralyzed in fear, and shock. I watched as the coyote tore at Zach’s arm, it had its grip, and Zach could not do nothing.
I watched as the scene from weeks before flashed in front of my eyes, I wanted to do something, anything then stand there, but I couldn’t, I could do nothing.
The fight went on for seconds until I did something. I ran inside grabbed the phone, and started dialing nine, one, one.
By the time I had rerun outside, I had messed up the numbers, over and over again.
I dropped the phone.
Zach was, alone, the coyote gone. He was holding his arm, which was bleeding real bad, and he was getting up.
I helped him up and through his injured arm over my shoulder,” We’ve got to get you to the hospital!”
His eyes went big.
“Please, please don’t, I beg you.”
I still limped on with him, but looked at him as if he was crazy.
He stopped, in pain obiously, but he dug in his pocket, then pulled some money out and handed it tome.
I stared at the money in awe, two, crisp, hundred dollars. How did have so much money? How? Why would he be giving me so much money?
By the time I looked up he was gone, and his car, which looked like another Subaru. . I ran over there, and searched around, no car, no Zach.
He was, gone.
I could not believe it, I would not face it. How could he limp that fast, and then DRIVE HIS CAR?!
I went inside, and sat at the table, and just sat and thought. How could he do it? Was this some trick? Why had the coyote had such a grudge to attack Zach? Why did thee coyote hide, then attack? What was going on here?
I could answer none of thee above. I was clueless, like something, or someone being used in a game, or for money, I didn’t want to know. It was, a thought I didn’t want to think.
I was know, determined to find the answer.
CHAPTER 7:
TRYING TO FIGURE THINGS OUT
I didn’t know what to make off what happened. Zach was attacked by a over-smart coyote, he paid me a huge amount NOT to bring him to the hospital, he vanished. Man, maybe I was going crazy.
What was I suppose to do? Go fetch Zach and say I would never take him to the hospital and ask him why he was so freaking rich?
This was worse then when Zach never answered. I was starting to think he was some freaking psycho, with mental issue. But then why did pretty much everyone say good things about him?
I was just, confused, even more now. Why was I asking me all these questions? I didn’t know, I was just, to confused.
I felt helpless, unable to do anything. What was I suppose to do?
Research, try and fail, maybe I could answer a few questions. Maybe not, but still, it was better then nothing..
I typed in, Tucson, Arizona animal problems, didn’t give me any needed info. This was my first try, I was still a bit confident.
I typed in Zach, Tucson Arizona, well that may have been stupid. Tucson, is a HUGE city, population is scary large. So, how many Zach’s in Tucson have internet? Well, I almost wanted to do a head bonk on my table. I was, losing continence.
I searched and searched, but it was useless, I could find nothing to help me.
I fell asleep searching.
CHAPTER 8:
THE SECRET
(AKA: OH MY GOD)
I was coming home from work, I was, sort of changing my mind about Zach. Maybe he had a phobia about the hospital or hospitals. But still, how did he DRIVE away? These thoughts were going to drive me insane.
I parked my car in the garage and noticed someone was there. Zach, he was… FINE?! It was only a week ago when he was attacked.
I sneaked closer, Zach seemed to have not noticed me and I hid behind a brush and watched. Spying may have not been the best idea.
He coaxed to something, did friendly clicking sounds, whatever he was doing most likely had something to do with the coyote.
There was a growl, it was the coyote. Zach backed up, then started coaxing and making friendly clicking sounds.
Zach still kept his promise, to try and get the coyote to move on. But still, he freaked me out.
There was a growl, then a bark and the coyote jumped, Zach was pinned. The coyote snapped his jaws at his head, Zach dodged it, then…
My mouth fell open, I was going crazy.
There Zach was, a large, black, raven was. It had silky black wings, and piercing yet friendly eyes that had an eerie intelligence glow in the eyes.
Zach was the raven I saw getting attacked by the coyote, I didn’t see a flashback when I saw Zach get attacked by a coyote, he flashed between his two forms.
Zach pulled his wings from under the coyote’s paws. It slipped from under the coyote and got right side up, then flew away.
It took me along time to go screaming to my house. The coyote had left by then, it seemed to never had noticed me.
When I was in my house, I was denying what happened. I saw things, yeah, saw things.
But I know what I saw.
Was there more people like Zach? Not animal, but not human? Did I really want to know?
What was I suppose to do? Go tell him he was some kind of freak and I never want to see him again.
I was unsure what to do. Maybe I should tell him. Even through he was a horribly nice person, I was unsure.
But why was the coyote so aggressive toward him? People said he had a “thing” with animals, well now that made sense, but why did this coyote hate him?
I got one question answered, but I had more then I started with.
I was unsure what to do.
CHAPTER 9:
TELLING
I knew, the next day, I had to tell him. Maybe I was crazy but, I just couldn’t stand telling him. But I didn’t have the courage to tell him in person. I would email him, hopefully see what happened.
I had no clue how to start it. So I decided with the coyote.
I typed:
“The coyote has been pretty aggressive lately. Thought you would like to know.
-Max.”
I got a email back, it said:
“How about we discuss it at the café tomorrow at seven in the morning?”
I answered with a quick yes, something told me, he wasn’t talking going to talk about the coyote, But I ignored that feeling.
***
That night I didn’t sleep, I was just, still in shock I guess. It was just to difficult to sleep at all.
I started getting ready around five thirty, at six thirty was ready, I drove, again, my Subaru stuck out like a sore thumb.
I parked nervously a block away, I started chewing my fingernails.. What would happen in there?
When I was inside, the waitress looked unsurprised, he looked at me, motioned to Zach, and went to get someone’s order. He was obviously use to this.
I saw him doing what he was the first day. It was almost like the first day. But I felt way worse, way, way worse.
I sat down, I was, fearful. What should I do? What should I say?
“Th-” I began, but was cut off.
“Hmm? So what did you see yesterday,” he said, he seemed to have a grin on his face.
He knew.
No, maybe I just saw the grin. Maybe I was just to nervous. Maybe this never happened at all…
What should I say?! I never thought of that…
“Its been, more aggressive, attacking, well close. But I am not sure. It still seems more aggressive toward you..”
He chuckled.
The waitress finally came,” Anything for the young man tonight?”
“ A French espresso would be nice please,” Zach said.
The lady nodded and headed away.
“I saw you…”
“I know what you say,” Zach said smiling, then his expression changed, he was still closing his eyes, but showed he was disturbed by something,” I can’t imagine how you felt afterward.”
WOW. He didn’t seem that surprised. Was he use to it?
“You… S-seem use to this,” I stuttered.
He smiled at that,” Far from it my friend.”
He smiled at me, got up, swept a tip on our table, then slipped to the front, set some money on the counter, then slipped out the door.
He slipped away with grace, the grace of a raven.
CHAPTER 10:
MORE
I didn’t see Zach again in a long time, I guess, maybe I didn’t want to see him, after what I knew.
I was walking down a street, I got bumped into, I turned around too see a beautiful woman.
She had these weird, golden eyes that were gorgeous. She had brown hair, that was so light it was golden-like, and it was curly, not to curly, perfect like waves of an ocean. She wore a purple shirt with a black peace sign in the middle. She had a black skirt on, not to small, but it was defiantly not long.
“I’m sorry,” she said, her voice soft but not quiet.
“No, no, it’s fine,” I said.
She walked onward. Then turned into a café, the one I met Zach in.
What could she be doing in there? Did she have a animal problem too? Probably.
I went into a shop next door and bought a expensive muffin, a small one, I spent a lot if time in there, read the newspaper. I went outside and was surprised by what I saw.
Zach walking, talking, and smiling with the woman I saw. Where they friends?? Was that woman like Zach? Not human, or animal?
Zach turned around, and through the rush of the crowd, I saw him smile at me. He smiled, then the crowd swarmed, and I couldn’t see him anymore.
My head swarmed about the woman. Who was she? What was she? It thumped in my head.
I didn’t sleep. Man I was losing a lot of sleep, I was starting to think I should have never moved, stayed where I was.
The next day was Sunday, what surprised me was the coyote was edgy, and snappy. That had to meant something…
It did.
Zach came, I was, surprised. He was with the woman I met, she was again, stuck on my mind.
“I promised that I would rid of the coyote,” Zach said.
The coyote, in no time was growling, hissing, snapping, but not biting. It was, maybe scared because the female was there.
But why? I didn’t understand.
Zach motioned to the woman,” This is Emily.”
She smiled at me. She seemed so nice…
The woman stared at coyote, she looked at it, “It…”
Zach nodded and looked at me,” We’ll come back tonight, I hope you don’t mind.
Did I mind a raven man wandering around my yard?
“Umm… OK?” That may have been the best answer.
He nodded smiled,” I just thought wanted to warn you.”
CHAPTER 11:
EMILY
Zach did what he said he would, he came late at night. I mean LATE. It was around midnight.
It confused me, aren’t coyotes nocturnal? But Zach was… Well Zach. Maybe he had something up his sleeve.
What woke me was a loud squawks, growls, yelps, and well, “caws”. What was going on?
I ran through my house and into the back door, grabbing my robe and flashlight doing so. I looked outside and was shocked at what I saw, the coyote was attacking, again.
Zach under the coyotes grip, he was flashing between his human form, and raven form. But what shocked me the most was when a golden eagle came soaring down, screeching,” CAAWW!!”
It sent its sharp talons into the coyote, the coyote jumped off, it did circles throwing its body wait to the side, trying to throw the golden eagle off.
Finally, the golden eagle did let go, it flew off, getting ready for another attack, which seemed to have happened many times before I came outside.
The coyote started backing up, snarling and hissing. Zach was getting up, he brushed himself off. The golden eagle, getting ready for another dive.
The coyote bolted, running far away from the house, I felt excited, it was finally gone! Gone! I would no longer need to worry of being attacked.
The golden eagle landed on the top of my house, finally the full shock came to me. WHERE did it come from?
I looked into its eyes, and knew right away who it was. The eyes of the earlier female shown brightly and fiercely, but at the same time happy.
Zach looked disappointed, WHY? The coyote was gone, his job was done.
“It will be back,” he said sadly.
What? Back? So they weren’t finished… I felt disappointed right away.
Zach walked over and picked up something. He came over and I saw it was the female’s clothes.
“Do you mind if Emily changes in your house?” Zach asked, and the eagle came down and landed lightly on Zach’s shoulder, her eyes asking me.
“Sure,” I said opening the door and letting them in.
I showed them to the guest room and Emily quickly grabbed her clothes and zoomed in, Zach closing the door.
“Thank you, it seems I have troubled you more then helped you,” Zach said, his dark brown eyes seem tired and sad.
I didn’t say anything, I could disagree, he was saying the truth.
He handed me a white package,” This is so little but I hoped it helps.”
His “little” seemed A LOT.
The guest room opened and Emily stepped out, as always, she was beautiful.
“I am sorry it has came to this, I really truly am sorry and thank you, a lot,” Emily said.
“It’s fine,” I mumbled.
“We’ll, it would be better to get help,” Zach said.
“Help?” I asked, confused.
Emily joined him and he started walking toward the front door. He looked behind at me.
“Help.”
I opened the white package and found two, crisp, two hundred dollar bills.
CHAPTER 12:
HELP
Zach’s “help” was more them just “help”. It was more like “helps”. A lot pf people came.
My mind wandered that night what was Zach’s “help.” I didn’t get a lot of sleep that night, again. The lack of sleep was causing problems at work.
But I kept on going, I didn’t get in any trouble I was truly lucky, or having an employee from their rival company.
Zach and Emily seemed busy that day. But before I knew it, the next day I ran into Emily, and another young woman.
The new woman looked in her twenties also, Her hair was black and tipped with silver and white, she had eyes that were so dark brown they were almost black. She wore a yellow skirt and pink tank top.
“Hi my name is Ginger,” the new woman said really fast, she was, preppy and cheery.
Before Emily could speak Ginger quickly said,” Zach asked us to ask you to if you wanted to come with to dinner and if so do you want go shopping with us to get clothes?”
Emily had barely opened her mouth before Ginger was finished speaking.
Ginger seemed like a preppy, happy, easily excited, and care-free person. She also reminded me of a animal that was on the tip of my tongue.
“What she said,” Emily said smiling.
I became confused. Zach asked me out for dinner? But first by me some clothes? He was, being to kind.
“I-I’ll come, but I refuse to let Zach buy me clothes,” I said.
Ginger went into puppy eyes, which were almost irresistible.
Almost.
I shook my head.
“Oh come on Ginger, he said yes to coming out to eat,” Emily said to her and it seemed the full effect came to Ginger.
She had a huge grin and jumped up and down,” Yippee!!!”
Maybe I should have said no, but I said yes.
Emily smiled with her eyes closed,” Thank you.”
“It is at nine o’clock tonight, at the Terra Cotta,” Ginger said quickly.
Emily looked at Ginger,” And the address?”
“Umm…” Ginger looked away and blushed.
Emily’s eyes went big,” You don’t remember?”
Ginger shook her head.
“Do you mind looking the address up on the internet? I forgot and hoped Ginger would remember.”
“Sure,” I said.
Ginger’s face lit up and she again was happy and cheery.
Ginger and Emily left, and they both waved good-bye.
CHAPTER 13:
DINNER
I did come, in my best suite. Zach and a group of people, Zach was center of attention, he was a bit taller then everyone else.
I was shocked when I noticed most of the people I would be eating with were woman. I was, a bit nervous I was, I will admit.
Zach noticed me, and smiled at me. I felt nervous again, noticing how everyone except me was wearing expensive clothes.
Emily was wearing a beautiful, tight one strap dress that seemed to be perfect on her. Her curly hair was in a bun you see the bride have at the wedding, a few curly bits of hair escaping. She seemed like she was a super model.
But Ginger was not behind her in clothes. She wore a yellow dress that barely reached her feet, which showed her yellow high heels, that also seemed pretty expensive. Her long, straight hair reached her shoulder, then wrapped around her. She was beautiful too.
I noticed people that I never had seen before, a woman with black hair that had streaks of snow white. Her hair only reached a bit over her ears, she had a pixel hair cut. She wore a short, strapless and pretty, shiny, white high heels. She had pretty much black eyes.
There was also another woman, who had mostly dirty white hair tipped with black. She had a little black dress and red high heels. She had dark brown eyes, lighter then Ginger’s.
There was a man, with a fine black suit on. He had dark brown hair and he had blackish eyes.
Zach smiled at me when I was next to the group,” Everyone is here, shall we go? Everyone is here,” he said and smiled.
Thank god there was no one else.
He nodded, and still it was chatty, we went inside and I felt like running away, I was the person dressed the worse in the whole restaurant.
Zach leaned over and told me,” You should have came shopping with us.
I regretted not coming with him from that day forward.
The waitress showed us a place to sit, and seemed a bit surprised at the number. I didn’t blame her. She put down seven menus.
I did not look at the menus, I told someone to pick for me and Ginger picked right away” Grilled New York Strip.”
Everyone ordered, and man it was a lot of food, starters, and soups, salads, and Zach got everyone except the other man a bottle of some wine. Knowing Zach, it was expensive. Everyone was going to share it except the man.
Everyone for awhile, was more interested in me, then anything else. I got a bit of a cold glare from the man, a curious look from the woman with a pixel-cut-hair-do. A unsure look from the other woman.
Ginger was being chatty, no one would talk to her except Emily, so they had a huge conversation.
I felt like sinking away.
“And…” Zach said and chatting began, I looked at him, thanking him for what he did with my eyes.
Chats went around the table, Ginger usually fuelling them all.
One was,” What is your favorite invention of all time?” Ginger looked at Zach and smiled.
“Coffee,” Zach said grinning.
Finally, I got the courage and asked a question, to Zach. I was prepared for an eighty or something, maybe a hundred.
“How old are you really?”
Zach smiled and Emily answered,” He is as old as the mountains.”
“Gah! Am I getting white?” Zach said.
Everyone burst out laughing.
The food came soon, starters, and soups, and salad. By then everyone had introduced themselves. The woman with the pixel-cut-hair-do name was Mabel, the other woman’s name was Jennie, and the man’s name was Bay.
The wine was red, it was amazingly good, so I knew I shouldn’t ask the price.
The time slipped by to fast, surprisingly, even with Bay glaring at me, it went by fast.
It was almost time to go, when I got the heart to ask Zach,” So really, how old are you?”
“In my eight hundreds,” he said and smiled.
My eyes went HUGE and my mouth looked more like the grand canyon.
Emily smiled,” Going to be eight-hundred-six in July sixteen.”
Oh. My. God.
CHAPTER 14:
A SLEEPOVER
We went outside, Zach looked at me,” We are, as better words would say, “Having a sleepover.”
I knew where this was going.
“Going home will be, too dangerous for one man,” Zach said and smiled.
I looked confused,” Why?”
“The coyote knows I have “help,” and knowing it, it will be very aggressive,” Zach said, looking straight ahead, he had a straight face.
I don’t why I did, but I trusted Zach.
I looked down,” I really don’t know…”
Ginger seemed to been listening the whole time,” But you haft too!”
“Fine,” I said. It wasn’t because I was being sweet to Ginger, but I was going to say sure but Ginger butted in. I really didn’t care.
“Why do you need so many people to help?” I had this on my mine for along time.
“Because it is about time I had some friends over, and I have a feeling t-” Zach said and was cutoff.
“How much pop do you have Zach?’ Ginger said, seeming excited.
“Enough for you to last five days straight,” Zach answered.
Ginger clapped her hands excitedly.
There was about cars. Emily got into a car with Ginger, and Bay, and Mabel. Zach got into a Subaru, which I got into, and Jennie.
Jennie was a bit quite, and so was I. I felt like I didn’t belong here, like I should escape, but I didn’t.
“Zach? Is the coyote… That much of a threat that…” Jennie said then slowly drifted on.
“Maybe, maybe,” Zach said, he seemed worried by it.
It was quite, and it worried not just me, but Jennie too, that made me feel a little better.
Zach was, busy driving, he seem through to have his mind somewhere else.
Zach drove a bit out of town, he parked at a house, a house the size of mine, except a second story. I wonder if this is where he lived.
Emily, Ginger, and Mabel were there first, Ginger hyper, Emily smiling at Ginger’s impatience, Mabel laughing at ginger, and Bay looking edgy.
Everyone except Bay smiled when he say the car. We parked and Zach, Jennie, and I walked up to the rest.
Zach took out a key and unlocked the door, the place was swarmed.
When I got inside, I noticed how nice it was, better then my. It had those corner couches that could hold a lot of people, an awesome TV, and so much more.
“Well, up to three groups can sleep here,” Zach said.
Ginger grabbed Emily’s hand,” We get one upstairs!” Emily looked confused, as Ginger pulled here up the stairs.
“I’ll get the bottom room,” Bay said and headed toward a room right next to the kitchen.
Mabel and Jennie where already in a room upstairs. Zach looked at me,” I guess you are the lucky sleeping at my house.” He grinned.
Crap.
“Everyone’s clothes are in the living room,” Zach said and smiled, he opened the door and went outside, he motioned to me and I followed.
He got in the car and I got in.
Again, crap.
CHAPTER 15:
MANSION
Zach took a different route, I was confused who would live out here?
Zach would.
I almost wanted to paint when I saw his house.
It was mansion.
Zach seem to be amused by it, driving and smiling. He was, entertained by me, which, I really didn’t mine.
He parked, he didn’t open his super-sized garage, he just smiled and got out, he opened the door for me. I got out, still in shock.
When we got to the HUGE door he put his index finger on it, it scanned, and the door unlocked.
Zach was smiling, “I can’t believe Emily made me buy this.”
I almost fainted, the size, the stuff, everything, was amazing. He was rich, he was pure money.
“Wh-” I started but was cutoff by Zach.
“I am, a fashion designer,” He smiled, amused by my huge surprise.
“Come, I’ll show you a few rooms,” he said and motioned and went up some stairs. He opened a room,” this, is my coffee room.”
I was surprised again when saw it was no little coffee maker, more like a whole café. He could have a little shop in here.
“I have been thinking about making it bigger, take a room down,” he said, he put his hand on his chin, he was thinking about if he should or shouldn’t.
He motioned on,” This is my “ancient room.”
There was paintings, hats, suits of amore, crap, this room could be worth a million dollar itself.
“Items range from seven hundred years to fifty,” Zach said.
My eyes went big.
He should me rooms, that where awesome, by ten thirty I wanted to fall asleep, this gut was rich.
“Are you famous or something?” I said, sounding sleepy.
“Actually, yes,” he said and smiled.
That was just suppose to be a joke.
He showed me to a guest room,” this is your room… Do you need something?”
I shook my head.
He nodded and left.
I fell asleep right when I hit the bed.
CHAPTER 16:
CALL
I woke up late, I felt like I had just woken up from some party, I got up lazily, not knowing where I was.
Then I remembered last night, I went down the stairs, scared that I woke up too early.
When I noticed I slept late, I looked around, not seeing Zach I wonder what happened.
“So you are finally up?”
I jumped, shocked from the sudden voice, I had heard no footsteps, door closing, anything. But the voice was Zach.
He smiled at me.
“I guess,” I said and smiled.
He nodded,” I need to make a phone call.”
I nodded and watched as he walked away.
A thought came to my head, why, why was Zach so… I don’t know, it didn’t know him that much, not that long.
When he came back, he had a worried look on his face. He seemed like he had something really bad thought on his mind, so I decide not to ask him.
“You want to fix your hair?” Zach asked and smiled.
My hair! I nodded and rushed up to the room I slept in, it had its own bathroom, which was, again, seemed to be so expensive.
I went to the faucet, I turned it a bit on. The cold water came out. I put some in, surprised how mad it got.
It went down, it was still bad, but better. It was much better, but not perfect, not even close.
I came down, Zach smiling at me, I was obviously bringing amusement, making what seemed like a bad time, a bit better for him.
“Where are we going?” I asked.
“Your house,” Zach said.
“W-why?”
“If I can somehow, be able to get the coyote to…”
I knew what he was going to do.
I shook my head.
“Everyone else left a minute ago,” Zach said going for the door.
I followed.
CHAPTER 17:
JACK
Zach drove, his thoughts somewhere else, mine on what we were driving into. What was up with this coyote? Why was it such a problem?
Movement flashed in the corner of my eye and Zach stopped, he must have somehow saw it too.
“What was that?” I asked, confused.
Zach looked as confused as me, he didn’t know how to answer.,
We both got out and went behind the car, my eyes went big at what I saw.
It looked like a eight year boy, he had fawn red hair and brown eye. He had dark blue jeans on and red t-shirt. He had black and white tennis shoes on.
He just stared at us, and I stared back, then softened up.
“It’s just a kid,” I said, getting closer to the poor kid.
“I wouldn’t do that…” Zach began.
“RAWR!!!”
I felt sudden pressure and pain on my arm, I yelled, and looked down to see a wolf cub, not weeks old, but months, bite down. It was fawn red and had brown eyes.
The kids clothes were empty.
Suddenly, the wolf cub was of, and staring at Zach.
It growled at him.
“He is hungry,” Zach commented.
The cub launched itself at Zach, ready to bite him. But Zach dodged with ease and turned around to see the puppy.
He grabbed something in his pocket.
“Cookie?” Zach asked.
The wolf cubs eyes went big and the cub took a big step, his tongue going up and down in pure hunger.
“Will you change back and get dress?” Zach asked.
The cub shook his head up and down many, many times.
Zach nodded and got up and grabbed the clothes and put it in his car. The cub jumped up into the seat.
Zach came over to me.
“Where did you get that cookie?” I said looking at the chocolate chip cookie.
“Emily and Ginger made cookies this morning,” Zach said and smiled.
The kid came jumping out of the car and came running to Zach.
“Give me! Give me!” He cried.
Zach smiled and handed the cookie.
The kid ate it in seconds, he devoured it.
Zach smiled at the kid and we both went to the car.
I was worried about the kid, he seem so little.
The kid came running to Zach,” I coming.”
Zach smiled and opened the back door, and the kid jumped in.
“What is your name?” Zach asked once he started driving, then turned around.
“Jack,” the kid said, looking to see if Zach would give him anymore cookies.
“We just adopted a kid,” I said, still shocked.
Zach smiled, no grinned and said,” Yes we did.”
CHAPTER 18:
THE HIDDEN SOUL
By the time we got back to Zach’s house, Zach had called everyone to come back. He said he had a “surprise.”
I was, sitting on the priceless couch that was one of those corner ones that held about ten people. Jack was, at Zach’s side, hoping he would give him food.
A knock came from the door and Zach opened it.
Ginger’s eyes showed pure love, Emily’s eyes where huge in confusion, Mabel and Jennie the same as Emily, and Bay staring at Zach as if Zach had done something terribly wrong.
“He is adorable!” Ginger yelled, running up to Jack to give him a big bear hug.
Jack stared at her with cold, hard eyes.
She froze.
“His name is Jack,” Zach said smiling.
Slowly, in the week that passed, Jack showed his true colors. He trusted everyone, and knew he could get almost anything from Zach.
Jack was a brat.
He begged from things, and when he didn’t get what he wanted, he pestered and became a snot.
“What do you want for lunch?” Zach asked smiling at Jack.
“Pepperoni pizza,” Jack said.
Zach looked at me,” Same thing?”
I nodded.
Later on he set two large, best smelling pizzas and smiling.
Jack devoured three fourths of the first pizza, I have never, ever seen a kid eat that much. But he really wasn’t a normal kid was he?
“My cholesterol,” I mumbled.
“Your cholesterol his high?” Zach asked.
“No, but it is going to be the way you feed your guests,” I said.
“Salad then?” Zach asked.
“No thank you,” I said, eating as much pizza as I could in the few seconds afterward.
Zach smiled, grinned, and seem to have a silent laugh.
Jack was, being happy spoiled. It had been only a week and the kid had changed from the humble kid that bit me, to a snotty brat.
Jack was, a huge ball of energy at the end of the week. He needed away to shed his extra energy. No, most of it, Jack was always, always, full of energy.
Bay refused to have a contact with me, or Jack. He would move if Jack or I came to close. When Zach asked if he would like to come outside with Jack, he refused and walked away.
Ginger asked him once and he hesitated, Ginger seem hopeful when he said yes, but he was a grouch outside.
I could not tell why he was so mean to both Jack and I, but had a sweet spot for Ginger, and was friends with everyone else.
Jack would, run around, play tag so rough that Zach and I agreed that I shouldn’t play. So Bay wasn’t the only one who sat out during Jack’s rough game.
Jack would, get to hyper and change, also changing to a game a game of fangs digging into something or someone.
Bay would get even more grouchy when Jack got hyper enough and changed. Jack would either try to get Bay to join, ignore him, snap at him, or when Bay was really grouchy, change back.
Jack knew I was to easy to get him what he wanted. So I was his target, in time, I became one of his favorite people.
It came time to do what we were going to do before we met Zach.
CHAPTER 19:
FLINCH
I was nervous, Jack came, but we all decide he should stay in the car. We debated on if I should go. We finally agreed.
I was, confused, why was so many people needed for just a coyote? Was it such a threat that so many people need to come and take care of the job?
I looked at Zach, confused. He seem to have something on his mind.
I felt a tug on my shirt and looked down.
“I want candy,” Jack demanded.
My eyes went big and looked at Zach..
“I want candy,” Jack demanded, sounding a bit angry.
“Zach…” I said, getting scared.
He smiled at me.
No.
So, the whole way there, Jack was, bullying all the way there. He would not stop. I told him a million times, nor Zach or I had candy.
Zach stopped the car and it was time.
He smiled at me, sensing I was nervous, then we both jumped out.
Everyone else jumped out seconds later, and the coyote appeared.
It felt cornered, it felt scared. It growled at everyone, staring them down, or trying. It had its ears down.
She lunged at me, Zach pushed me out of the way and barely dodged the coyote’s sharp teeth.
It was confused, why had no one already lunged at ?
Zach started saying Random word,” Sun, moon, flower…”
Jack was still in the car, going nuts.
“Human…”
The coyote flinched.
Bay lunged, wrestling the stunned coyote to the ground.
It snarled.
Bay motioned to Ginger who, shot, something.
A tranquilizer gun.
After some shots, they let it go. It snarled and ran, but then, after a long time waiting.
Fell.
CHAPTER 20:
THE OTHER SECRET
I was stunned, no one had let me in on the plan, so I was stunned. Why Ginger? Where they did the obtain a tranquilizer gun?
Zach smiled at me,” Have you figure it out yet?”
“What?” I was now even more confused.
“The coyote,” Zach said and smiled.
I looked at him, confused.
“I’m so soft,” he said and smiled.
More confusing.
“I suppose, Bay was right, she is a threat, and the better would be to eliminate it,” Zach said.
I hoped the “she” was the coyote, and it was a “she”?
“But, I rebelled. We all knew this was no normal coyote, through, she thought so,” Zach said and smiled.
What…
“The coyote is no coyote,” Zach said, grinning.
It was, not human, nor animal, just like Zach.
He smiled, and before long we were at his house, he got out, and Jack followed. I got out last.
“W-what is going to happen to the coyote?” I asked.
“Hopefully when she wakes up, she wont be too aggressive, and hopefully, I can talk her into telling us something,” Zach said, thoughtful.
My eyes went big and I just stared at him if he was cuckoo.
He smiled at me, and we both went inside.
***
I had fallen asleep, and had been put in the bed I had been sleeping on. I got up lazily, wonder what had woke me up, and went down stairs.
I went down stairs and heard noises in the other room. I tip-toed over and peeked in.
WOW.
The coyote was sitting on Zach’s laps, it seemed like it had barely any fight in it left, and it hadn’t go in any fight, or, I could see no evidence that there was a fight
He was, alone, except with the coyote.
He had tamed her.
I fell, my eyes big and I knew my cover was blown.
“That was the worse ninja attempt I have ever seen,” Zach said, his eyes big but soon turned into a smile.
Zach knew how to help with those stressful moments.
The coyote jumped up and growled at me.
I scooted back.
Zach mumbled in inaudible sound and the coyote died down, but it kept a cold glare on me.
“It will, be a long time before she gets use to you,” Zach said.
I nodded, still surprised to see the wolf that was before attacking Zach, trusting him completely.
“You have a lot to fill me in with…” I started…
“Tomorrow? The night has already has its surprise,” Zach said and smiled.
I nodded and headed up stairs to sleep.
CHAPTER 21:
QUESTIONS
I woke up late that morning, again, but not as late this time. Zach was sipping his coffee, on his table, as if he knew I was coming down.
“No bad hair today,” Zach said and smiled.
I smiled back.
“I want Emily’s pancakes,” Jack said to Zach.
Zach looked down and smiled,” I’ll get you some.”
Zach got up and opened a refrigerator, it was filled with riches, but from the back he pulled out some leftover pancakes. He pulled the plastic off and put in the expensive microwave. He pulled them out later and put some syrup on it, and let Jack devour it.
He sat down,” My guess is that you want to ask the questions now.” I nodded.
“You can go, I have a feeling I shall be flooded with questions,” he said then smiled at the end.
“What happened last night? The coyote hated you and know like, loves you,” I said. “I talked,” Zach said and smiled at the ceiling. “But…” “After being around as long as I have, you learn a few things,” he said, bringing his gaze from the ceiling to me. I left it at that.
“Do… It seems you never sleep,” I said, embarrassed. “I take naps, I don’t sleep, I take enough naps during the day and night to get in eight hours,” Zach said and grinned.
“I know this sounds a bit… Mean but we haven’t known each other for awhile, yet it is like we have known each other for along time. For me… I know this sounds really stupid but its like my body wont let me feel unsure about you,” I said.
“A calling,” Zach said. “So… That is why, but…” I began. “I know just about as much as you at the moment,” Zach said, smiling. I decide to pretend I never asked that.
“I want a cookie,” Jack said looking at me, my eyes went big.
“I want a cookie,” Jack demanded.
Zach smiled and pointed to a cabinet., I got up and speed walked to it, Jack tailing me.
I opened the cabinet and searched and found some cookies, I gave one to Jack.
“More,” Jack said.
I didn’t hesitate giving him the rest of the cookies.
CHAPTER 22:
BASEBALL
Jack was hyper, playing. Zach following him around to make sure he didn’t brake anything of his.
Jack went outside with Mabel, Jennie, and Emily, so Zach, Bay, and I were the only people in Zach’s large mansion.
“That kid is to hyper,” Bay complained.
Zach was sipping coffee and Bay to his side, Zach looked at him without moving his head,” then putting him in a sport would be a good idea.”
Bay avoid his gaze.
“Soccer?” Zach said and looked at the ceiling in deep thought.
“There is a ball and kicking, someone is inedible going is going to get hurt,” Bay said, still grumpy.
“Baseball?” Zach asked, still in deep thought.
“B-” Bay started but was cutoff.
“Baseball?”
We all turned around and saw Jack his head cocked to the side, his eyes big and showing curiosity.
Bay slammed his hand on his head.
“Baseball is a sport,” Zach said and smiled at Jack, or because he happy to see Bay’s reaction.
Jack seemed confused.
“Baseball is a game,” Zach said, still smiling.
“I want to play,” Jack said.
“Ginger? Do you want to buy a ball, bat, and a gloves?” Zach asked.
Ginger smiled and nodded, she walked up to Zach and Zach gave her some money.
“I’ll go with her,” Bay said, still grumpy.
The next thing I knew, I had a catcher glove and armor on and me, and my eyes went big as Zach wheeled up for a pitch, Jack up to bat.
The ball came whizzing by, Jack swinging and barely missing, and the ball hit my glove with such force it that my hand felt numb and pushed me back, I barely caught myself from falling.
It through it back, stunned a bit.
I noticed where people were, Ginger on first, Bay on second, Emily shortstop, and Jennie third. Mabel was on deck.
Zach smiled at me and winked, he got ready for another ball.
It was a curve ball, and Jack didn’t swing, another strike, not as hard, but hard. I threw it back and Zach caught it gracefully.
He winded up and threw a the ball, a fast ball. Jack got ready and swung, hitting the ball with ball with pure strength.
Bay went running after the ball, I saw now why no one is the outfield, it wouldn’t be fair.
Bay got ready to jump but the ball flew past, and went over the fence.
Home run.
Jack danced around the bases, he was happy. When he made it to home base Ginger picked him and hugged him, and Mabel smiled at Jack and joined the hug. He fought his way out, and shook off.
We played until the sun started to set, and I had only hit the ball once, Zach had turned out to be a real good pitcher. When Zach hit, Bay pitched, but only when Zach was hitting or on base.
Jack didn’t really bother anyone much that night.
CHAPTER 23:
DISAGREE
` I woke up that morning, sleepy, but at nine. I was, fairing better. At least not that long anymore.
I went down, sleepy, wondering what five star food Zach would whip up this time. It was always a surprise, things I never heard of before even.
“Of all the stupid things Zach!” I heard a voice, which I recognized as Bay’s voice.
“You’re the oldest of us all and you do something absolutely stupid! I can’t believe….” Bay yelled but was cutoff.
“Please Bay-” Zach started but was cutoff by Bay.
“No! Of all the stupid things you go off and let the secret slip! And don’t tell me it is because of that stupid calling!” Bay yelled.
“Remember when we met, guns flaring…”
“Muskets flying,” Bay said, his tone softening.
“Slaves making it to a place of freedom,” Zach continued. “And brothers against brothers,” Bay said then sighed.
Wait…. What? Slaves? Brothers? Muskets? What was that suppose to mean? Zach couldn’t be brothers with Bay, then what?
The civil war.
It came to me instantly, Zach and Bay met in the civil war.
My eyes went big as I got this. Zach? War? I had a hard time to think of Zach in the war, the a gun, shooting, and wearing a civil war uniform.
Bay wasn’t that hard, Bay being Bay. It almost seemed Bay did come from that time period.
The fighting stopped and I waited five minutes, then came down, hopefully looking sleepy.
Bay’s eyes shot at me, “When did you get up?”
“Just know,” I said lazily anointed toward the stairs.
“Humph, good,” Bay mumbled and walked off.
CHAPTER 24:
IN TOWN
Zach seemed calm, sipping his coffee. He seem to push aside what had just happened between him and Bay.
“Hungry?” Zach asked said looking up at me.
“No, no thank you,” I said, sitting down. I would eat at lunch instead.
Bay had stormed off somewhere, I really didn’t care, as long as he was away as gained his temper again.
“Where is Jack?” I asked.
“At the guest house, watching baseball,” Zach said and smiled when he came to the word “baseball”.
“This early?” I said, surprised that baseball would be on this early.
“It’s a rerun,” Zach said, stilling smiling.
It seemed tensed, as if Bay was going to burst in any moment.
“It… It seems tense,” I mumbled.
Zach smiled,” It will cool down.”
I nodded.
Yet, I had a feeling it wouldn’t.
Bay did come back, steamed but still not as mad, he said a quick,” Reo is back.”
Zach’s eyes went big, he tensed. That couldn’t be good, Zach was always calm, mellow, yet he was tense, worried.
“Ginger, Emily, Mabel, and Jennie spotted him, shopping, walking,” Bay said, stopped, he was, swelling with anger.
“He can feel it too,” Zach said, not like a question, but as if answering a question.
“They’re coming home,” Bay said.
Jack was, practicing batting away from the house, so he couldn’t hear this and was safe here.
“He could be tracking,” Zach commented.
“Emily is circling,” Bay said.
Zach took a deep breath and pinched the bridge of his nose. He was still nervous.
“He knows you live here,” Bay said, he turned his head away from Zach.
Zach nodded.
I was, horribly confused. Reo? Town? What?
“Reo? What?” I said.
Bay shot me a meancing look as if to shut up, I did.
Zach seemed lost in his own world.
It was, about ten minutes later, a knock came from the door. It was Emily, Ginger, Jennie, and Mabel.
Bay hugged Emily, Zach smiled at Emily, but Mabel broke the silence,” Reo, was in town, he seems like he is searching for something, or someone.” Mabel looked at me.
“It wont be long before he finds what he wants,” Zach said.
It was quiet.
NO CRITS, AND YOU MAY POST!!!!!!!!! ^^
